The Runway is Just the Beginning: Acne Studios Scores Big with New Kappa Collab
Acne Studios may be known for their high-end fashion shows, but they’re no strangers to the football field. In fact, the Swedish luxury label has been catering to the sport’s fan base for years with game-inspired scarves, cleat-like sneakers, and even a full “Fotbollsklubb” collection. And last year, they caused a frenzy with their pastel pink fashion jersey, solidifying their place in the world of luxury designers and soccer.
But now, Acne Studios is taking their love for the game to the next level with a 22-piece collaboration with Italian sportswear brand Kappa. Known for their iconic football jerseys, Kappa has outfitted some of the most beloved teams in the sport’s history, from Juventus to Manchester City. And with their recent foray into designing for smaller, fashionable clubs, it was only a matter of time before they teamed up with Acne Studios.
The collection draws inspiration from retro football kits, blending classic sportswear elements with Acne Studios’ signature shapes and motifs. Standout pieces include flame-printed football jerseys in the same pink hue as last year’s fashion jersey, as well as denim trousers and tracksuits featuring Kappa logo tape down the legs. The collection also features form-fitting tops and a new Bolina bag adorned with the collab’s flame iconography and dual logos.
The campaign for the collection stars Tricky, the British record producer and musician known for his trip-hop records. According to Acne Studios’ creative director Jonny Johansson, Tricky’s music has had a real impact on his life, making him the perfect fit for the collaboration. And Tricky himself had a great time working with the brand, saying “they made it feel like family.”
The Acne Studios x Kappa collection will be available online on March 27 and in stores on April 3. With its fusion of sportswear and high fashion, this collaboration is sure to be a hit with both football fans and fashion enthusiasts alike. Don’t miss your chance to score a piece of this winning collection.
