Maison Margiela and Gentle Monster Team Up for Third Collaboration
The highly anticipated collaboration between Maison Margiela and Gentle Monster is finally here, and it’s their biggest one yet. The French fashion house and Korean eyewear brand have joined forces for the third time, bringing us a collection of 20 stunning eyewear designs.
Cybercore Aesthetics Meets Metallic Materials
This latest collection builds on the success of their previous collaborations, which featured 11 and 17 pieces respectively. The new lineup combines cybercore aesthetics with metallic materials, cable temples, and Maison Margiela’s iconic white stitches motif.
Statement Shades in a Variety of Finishes
The collection includes eight sunglasses and 12 optical frames, each with avant-garde end tip designs. The statement shades will be available in silver and green metallic finishes, as well as classic colors like black, gray, navy, ivory, red, and tortoiseshell.
Pop-Up Spaces in Seven Cities Worldwide
To celebrate their third collaboration, Maison Margiela and Gentle Monster will be opening special pop-up spaces in seven cities around the world. These temporary shops will feature a spatial design inspired by the eyewear’s cable temple detailing, with “cybercore-inspired abstract human forms, raw patterns, and sheer materials in harmonious balance.” The locations of these pop-ups have not yet been announced.
Available Online and In Stores
The Maison Margiela and Gentle Monster collaboration will launch online on March 5th through Gentle Monster’s website and authorized retailers like HBX. The collection will then be available in stores starting on March 6th. Check out the gallery above for a sneak peek at the stunning designs.
