The Fashion and Art Worlds Collide: BOSS Announces Partnership with Art Basel to Present Inaugural Awards
The worlds of fashion and art have always had a close relationship, and now they are coming together in a big way. BOSS, the renowned fashion brand, has just announced a groundbreaking partnership with Art Basel to present the first-ever Art Basel Awards.
With their shared commitment to innovation and creativity, BOSS and Art Basel are a perfect match. “We are thrilled to be at the forefront of driving innovation in the arts and its related fields,” said Daniel Grieder, CEO of Hugo Boss in a statement. “Art Basel’s premium positioning, global relevance, and pioneering spirit make them the ideal partner for this exciting endeavor.”
The awards committee will be led by Vincenzo de Bellis, Art Basel’s Director of Fairs and Exhibition Platforms, along with a panel of esteemed experts. Together, they will carefully review and select 36 recipients for the awards. These awards will recognize and support international artists at all stages of their careers, from emerging talents to established mid-career artists and legendary icons.
But it’s not just about artists – the awards will also honor non-artist categories, highlighting the contributions of patrons, curators, museums, cross-disciplinary creatives, and behind-the-scenes allies. This comprehensive approach aims to celebrate and cultivate the diverse voices and talents within the art world.
The winners will be announced in May and will be celebrated at a reception during Art Basel Switzerland from June 19-22. And for those who can’t make it to Switzerland, fear not – 12 Gold Medalists will also be honored at an immersive celebration during Art Basel Miami in December.
