Lights, Cameras, Action: Gucci’s Fall/Winter 2025 Collection Takes the Runway by Storm

The anticipation was palpable as the lights dimmed and the cameras started rolling. It was time for Gucci’s highly-anticipated Fall/Winter 2025 collection to take center stage. And with a live orchestra setting the mood, the show was nothing short of spectacular.

The venue was a massive room adorned with shining interlocking Gs, creating a futuristic atmosphere reminiscent of a retro perfume bottle. The clothes were a perfect blend of mod and modern, showcasing the brand’s versatility and ability to cater to all styles.

As with many designers this season, fur and lace were the stars of the show. But Gucci took it a step further, incorporating Twiggy-inspired A-line mini dresses with silk scarves tied over baseball caps. And of course, the iconic horse-bit motif was given a fresh twist as a drop-chain necktie.

But the real showstopper was the co-ed collection, a first for the brand since the departure of Sabato De Sarno just a few weeks ago. The internal design team took the reins and delivered a collection that blurred the lines between menswear and womenswear. Outerwear and striped duffles were the standout pieces for men, while women rocked pastel patent leather skirt suits and glittery 1980s logo catsuits.

This move towards a co-ed collection is not new in the fashion world, with other luxury designers like Acne Studios also incorporating both categories into one runway presentation. But it speaks to the current trend of blurring traditional fashion boundaries and the growing popularity of menswear-inspired looks for women.

This is not the first time Gucci has relied on its design team, as they did for four seasons after Alessandro Michele’s departure in 2022. And some may notice similarities between the team’s previous FW23 runway and the current collection, with both playing with corporate contrast and incorporating bold pops of color.

While De Sarno’s collections were criticized for being too commercial, they served as a distinct aesthetic interlude between those designed by the collective team. And with the brand’s falling sales and the debut of their newest collection, all eyes are on Gucci to see who will be their next creative director.

But for now, we can all admire the stunning Fall/Winter 2025 collection in the gallery above. And stay tuned to Hypebeast for more coverage of Milan Fashion Week.
