As winter comes to a close in New York City, Lower East Siders are eagerly anticipating the return of Awake NY’s Orchard Street block parties. And the brand’s founder, Angelo Baque, is already setting the stage for the upcoming months with the release of their Spring 2025 collection.
Collaborating with the Legacy of Gil Scott-Heron
At the heart of the collection is a collaboration with the estate of the legendary American poet and singer, Gil Scott-Heron. This capsule pays tribute to his iconic legacy with pieces like a hoodie featuring the album artwork for The Mind of Gil Scott-Heron and a classic dad hat embroidered with the tracklist from his debut album, Pieces of a Man.
Seasonal Staples and Logo-Laden Pieces
Along with the Scott-Heron pieces, the Spring 2025 collection also includes Awake NY’s signature “Real Tree” camouflage prints, workwear jackets, and branded jerseys. And of course, there are plenty of logo-laden hoodies and T-shirts, as well as a standout bright blue trench coat with emblematic imagery.
Featuring the New Air Jordan 5 Collaboration
The collection’s lookbook showcases Awake NY’s highly anticipated collaboration with Air Jordan 5. The “Arctic Pink” design, featuring the brand’s “A” motif on the lateral midfoot, is rumored to drop on August 29 for $210 USD.
Mark Your Calendars for the Release
