New Balance and Dover Street Market Team Up for Limited Edition 991v2 Sneaker
New Balance and luxury concept retailer Dover Street Market (DSM) have joined forces once again to release a special edition of the Boston sneaker brand’s iconic 991v2 MADE in UK model. This collaboration brings a touch of high-end fashion to the classic retro runner, elevating it with premium Nubuck leather overlays on the mesh uppers.
The all-black colorway maintains the familiar profile of the 991v2, but adds reflective accents on the sway bar of the toe box and the tongue’s logo badge for a technical touch. The tongue and lateral side tab also feature “DSM” branding, representing the special partnership between the two brands. And with full-length FuelCell cushioning, classic ABZORB and ENCAP features, these sneakers offer both style and comfort.
Some may notice similarities to the “Triple Black” 991v2 released earlier this year, but this new collaboration adds unique details and branding to set it apart. New Balance has been on a roll with monochromatic designs, and this collaboration is no exception. The 1906L, 1906A, and 2002R models have all recently been released in all-black colorways.
But this isn’t the first time New Balance and DSM have teamed up. In 2022, they released a gray and khaki colorway of the 991 model, featuring New Balance’s signature palette. And in March 2024, they released another black variant of the 991v2 for the TCS London Marathon, with small pops of orange and green in the midsoles.
