Celebrate Japan’s Sneaker Culture with atmos x adidas Tobacco “Nenrin” Collaboration
Japan’s premier sneaker retailer, atmos, is marking its 25th anniversary with a special collaboration with adidas Originals. The iconic Tobacco silhouette has been reimagined as a tribute to Yakushima’s ancient Yakusugi cedar trees, resulting in a unique and exclusive colorway.
A Tribute to Yakushima’s Ancient Trees
The atmos x adidas Tobacco “Nenrin” boasts a “Brown/Dark Green/Dark Brown” colorway, inspired by the millennium-old Yakusugi trees found on the island of Yakushima. The dark brown suede upper represents the deep, rugged hues of the Yakusugi trunks, while the Three Stripes in luxurious velour take on a rich green shade, symbolizing the lush foliage of Yakushima’s forests.
Exclusivity and Heritage
As a nod to its Japanese roots, the sneaker features a “DESIGNED IN TOKYO” tag, highlighting its origin. The back of the tongue is adorned with gold lettering, honoring atmos’ 25-year legacy in Japan’s sneaker culture. The insole also features an intricate tree ring graphic, symbolizing the longevity of Yakusugi trees and serving as a metaphor for atmos’ growth over the past decades.
Shaping the Future of Sneaker Culture
Just as tree rings tell the story of time, atmos’ influence continues to expand, shaping the future of sneaker culture while staying true to its heritage. The atmos x adidas Tobacco “Nenrin” collaboration is a testament to this, showcasing the brand’s evolution and impact in the sneaker world. The sneaker will be released on February 22 and will be available for purchase at atmos stores in Japan. Don’t miss your chance to own a piece of sneaker history.
