25 Years Strong: Fashion East’s Incubator Continues to Champion Young Underground Design
After a quarter of a century, Fashion East’s unwavering support for emerging fashion talent is still going strong. To celebrate this milestone, the program has announced the three labels that will be showcasing at the upcoming FW25 London Fashion Week: Olly Shinder, Nuba World, and Louther.
Pausing the Fashion Week Merry-Go-Round
This season, the avant-garde incubator is taking a break from the rapid succession of fashion week shows and giving its designers a chance to settle into their creative rhythm. For the first time in recent memory, there will be no change in the showcasing designers from the SS25 season. This steady lineup allows fashion fans to fully appreciate the design synergy of these three talented designers before moving on to the next.
Meet the Designers
Olly Shinder has quickly made a name for himself in the London fashion scene by infusing technical wear with the subversive sex appeal of the city’s clubbing scene. Nuba World, created by Cameron William, blends his African and London heritage with subtle draping that pays homage to cultural differences. Louther, previously known as Loutre, uses Olympia Schiele’s photography and design background to create an edgy visual narrative, all while upcycling vintage pieces.
A Legacy of Nurturing Talent
Fashion East was founded in 2000 by industry icon Lulu Kennedy as a way to discover and nurture emerging talents and launch them onto the fast-paced runways of London Fashion Week. Past brands that have graced the incubator’s stage include Simone Rocha, Ancuta Sarca, Craig Green, Maximilian Davis, Martine Rose, and Jonathan Anderson, among others.
