Kobe Bryant’s Final adidas Signature Shoe Makes a Bold Comeback with the “Silver Metallic” Colorway

The wait is finally over for fans of Kobe Bryant’s iconic adidas signature line. The adidas Crazy 2, formerly known as the Kobe 2, is set to make a triumphant return in its eye-catching “Silver Metallic” colorway. This release brings back one of the most talked-about basketball sneakers from the early 2000s.

First introduced in 2001, the Kobe 2 took inspiration from the sleek design of the Audi TT Roadster. Its futuristic and streamlined look was a departure from the traditional basketball shoe, but it quickly became a polarizing favorite. Unfortunately, its bulky silhouette played a part in Kobe’s decision to leave adidas for Nike, where he went on to create one of the most iconic signature sneaker lines in history.

Despite its mixed reception upon its initial release, the Crazy 2’s bold design is now perfectly in line with the current Y2K-inspired sneaker trends. The “Silver Metallic” edition features a shiny synthetic leather upper with sleek black accents, staying true to its original design. The oversized midsole with deep grooves remains unchanged, providing both style and performance. The iconic three stripes are subtly integrated into the outsole, paying homage to adidas’ heritage.

One notable change is the branding. Due to Kobe’s estate no longer being associated with adidas, the shoe has been officially renamed as the Crazy 2, following the brand’s approach to previous Kobe-era retros. But don’t let that stop you from snagging a pair of these highly coveted kicks. The adidas Crazy 2 “Silver Metallic” will be available for purchase on April 2025, exclusively at adidas. Don’t miss out on this chance to own a piece of basketball and sneaker history.
