Salehe Bembury’s Latest Collab with New Balance: “GROWTH BE THE TREE”
Introducing the highly anticipated collaboration between designer Salehe Bembury and New Balance, the “GROWTH BE THE TREE” 1500 model. This unique colorway, named “Olive Gray,” is set to release on February 6 at 9 am PST exclusively on Bembury’s Be a Spunge web store.
After a surprise tease from sneaker retailer A Ma Maniere, Bembury has now released an official video trailer and campaign for the collaboration. The video showcases the intricate details and design elements of the shoe, giving fans a closer look at what to expect.
The 1500 model features warm beige suede overlays, cool gray mesh on the toebox, and gray leather at the collar. The co-branded tongue and backside boast bright yellow embroidery, while the colorful soles steal the show. The butter-colored midsoles have a block of brown at the heel and purple and orange accents on the lateral side. The mostly gray outsoles have a green panel at the center of the arch and an electric blue heel panel.
Unlike Bembury’s previous collaborations with Crocs, this New Balance 1500 takes a more traditional and understated approach. Last year’s New Balance 1906R “Heat Be Hot” was a bold and futuristic design, but this latest collab opts for a more classic look.
