Sean Wotherspoon Takes on New Role as Global Vintage Curator at Gap

Sean Wotherspoon, the renowned American designer, artist, and sneaker enthusiast behind the iconic Nike Air Max 1/97, has added a new title to his impressive resume: Global Vintage Curator at Gap.

In this exciting new position, Wotherspoon will be launching the GapVintage program, a curated collection of globally sourced vintage pieces that will be released in seasonal drops throughout the year.

“I’m thrilled to see Gap taking control over the supply of its vintage products and expanding this program since we first introduced it almost two years ago,” said Wotherspoon. “As the demand for vintage and secondhand items continues to grow, I’m excited to bring GapVintage to the younger generation all around the world.”

The first drop of the program will feature some of Wotherspoon’s personal favorite Gap pieces from the ’80s and ’90s. This includes classic essentials like the ’90s Striped Pocket T-shirt and Classic Logo Hoodie, as well as rare finds like the ’80s Denim Jacket Hoodie and ’90s Nylon Anorak Zip-Up Windbreaker.

The first GapVintage drop will be available to shop in the US on February 4 at 12 p.m. ET on Gap’s webstore. It will also launch in select pop-ups in Shinjuku, Tokyo on February 1 and Osaka on February 8. Check out the gallery above for a sneak peek at the collection.
