Crafty Italian Designer Creates One-of-a-Kind “Replica Suit” Made from 50 Studded Belts
Italian designer Mattias Gollin, known for his statement-making Moon Boots, has once again wowed the fashion world with his latest project: a unique “Replica Suit” made from 50 studded, illuminating, and textural belts from Hollywood Trading Company in Los Angeles.
Inspired by Maison Margiela’s Fall 2012 H&M collaboration, which featured re-editions of the brand’s most iconic and experimental designs, Gollin’s “Replica Suit” pays homage to the Maison’s renowned “Replica” line. This line features meticulously crafted remakes of vintage pieces from around the world, and the H&M collaboration was no exception.
Gollin’s “Replica Suit” takes this concept to the next level, using vintage belts from Hollywood Trading Company’s extensive collection of American leather accessories. The result is a show-stopping suit that demands a triple-take.
