It’s been a long wait for fans of Devin Booker’s Nike Book 1 in the iconic “Forrest Gump” colorway, but the release is finally here. The red and white sneaker, inspired by the classic Cortez color scheme, will be dropping next week on January 24. You can snag a pair for $140 USD on Nike SNKRS and select retailers.

Earlier this year, Devin Booker gave us a sneak peek of his Nike Book 1 PEs in the beloved “Forrest Gump” colorway. Combining basketball and nostalgia, this shoe is part of the trend of bringing back the iconic color scheme. At the time, it was uncertain if the shoe would be available to the public, but now it’s confirmed that it will be receiving a general release.
The “Forrest Gump” Book 1s pay homage to the original Cortez, featuring an all-white upper with bold red accents on the Swoosh logos, tongue labels, and back heel tabs. The shoe sits on a white rubber sole with a blue stripe, reminiscent of the classic Cortez style. The Nike Book 1 “Forrest Gump” is no longer a PE and is set to release in January 2025, in line with Nike’s plan to bring back the OG “Forrest Gump” Cortez in May 2024.
