The Lunar New Year is Here and Arc’teryx is Celebrating with a Limited Edition Jacket

The Year of the (Wood) Snake is upon us and Arc’teryx is marking the occasion with a special version of their popular Alpha SV jacket. This Canadian brand has teamed up with multidisciplinary artist Romon Kimin Yang to create a design inspired by “urushi” – a natural lacquer with healing properties found in Southeast Asia.

Yang, also known as ROSTARR, drew on his Asian roots to come up with the unique design, stating that “the snake is a mysterious and beautiful creature that I have a lot of reverence for.” The limited edition jacket is made from triple-layer GORE-TEX Pro 2.0 material, known for its durability and resistance to abrasion. This makes it the perfect choice for climbers, as the Alpha SV is one of Arc’teryx’s top climbing jackets.

The jacket features an adjustable hood with the brand’s proprietary “StormHood” technology, making it compatible with climbing helmets and cycling helmets. It also has multiple pockets, including a water-sealed pocket on the left bicep, two chest pockets, and two internal pockets for secure storage. For those planning to take this jacket into the wild, it also has RECCO® reflectors to aid in search and rescue efforts.

The Arc’teryx “Year of the Wood Snake” Alpha SV jacket is available now in limited quantities at select stores for $1,000 USD. Unfortunately, it is not available for purchase online. Don’t miss your chance to snag this unique and durable jacket before it’s gone!
