BAPE’s “Year of the Snake” Capsule: A Fresh Start for the Iconic Streetwear Brand
BAPE is back and better than ever with its latest apparel release. The iconic streetwear brand is starting anew with its Lunar New Year “Year of the Snake” capsule, which not only marks its first in-line release of 2025, but also pays homage to the symbolic meaning of the snake: regrowth and rebirth.
In an Instagram caption, BAPE explains, “The Year of the Snake symbolizes resurrection and regeneration, as the snake sheds its skin and transforms into a new form—marking the beginning of something fresh and powerful.”
This collection, part of BAPE’s “A RISING BAPE” series, showcases the brand’s new outlook with a range of jackets, t-shirts, denim pieces, mesh caps, and hoodies. Drawing inspiration from the Yamata-no-Orochi motif, a symbol of rebirth and transformation in Japanese mythology, BAPE incorporates its signature graphic style to bring it to life.
Gone are the classic camo prints, replaced with snakeskin patterns and foil-printed graphics. Even the iconic APE HEAD logo gets a makeover, with a snake coiled around it. Check out the Year of the Snake capsule in the lookbook above and grab your favorite pieces at BAPE’s official webstore. It’s time for a fresh start with BAPE’s “Year of the Snake” collection.
