Saks Global Acquires Neiman Marcus for $2.7 Billion USD

In a major move for the luxury retail industry, Saks Global has officially completed its acquisition of Neiman Marcus for a whopping $2.7 billion USD. This deal brings together some of the biggest names in luxury fashion, including Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Saks OFF 5TH, all under the Saks Global umbrella.

According to Executive Chairman Richard Baker, this transaction is a game-changer for Saks Global and the luxury retail market as a whole. “We are thrilled to unite these iconic brands and create an unparalleled multi-brand luxury portfolio with endless potential for growth,” he stated in a press release.

But this acquisition is not just about bringing together big names in fashion. Saks Global has big plans for innovation and growth, with the help of some major players in the industry. The deal is backed by e-commerce giant Amazon, who will work with Saks Global to revolutionize their operations as an investor.

Other equity contributors include Authentic Brands Group, Salesforce, M. Klein & Company, and G-III Apparel Group. Authentic Brands Group is Saks Global’s joint venture partner in Authentic Luxury Group (ALG), a global brand owner and licensing company. With ALG, Saks Global will be able to leverage their combined capabilities to maximize the potential of Authentic’s luxury brands in various sectors, such as fashion, retail, digital, hospitality, real estate, art, and travel.

And with the help of Salesforce, Saks Global is determined to continue innovating and developing its personalization strategy. By utilizing AI technology, they aim to provide a more customized and personalized shopping experience for their customers at all of their retail locations.
