Method Man Brings the TICAL Touch to Weedgets’ Maze-X Pipe

Method Man didn’t jump into cannabis because it suddenly became a good business opportunity. Cannabis has been woven into his music, identity and creative universe since long before licensed dispensaries, celebrity brands and carefully staged product launches became part of the industry.

More than 30 years after the release of his landmark debut album, Tical, the Wu-Tang Clan legend is still finding new ways to expand the name.

His cannabis lifestyle brand, TICAL Official, has announced a new collaboration with Weedgets, introducing a white-and-gold edition of the company’s Maze-X Pipe. The release brings together one of hip-hop’s most enduring cannabis figures and a smoking accessory designed to put a modern spin on one of the oldest rituals in weed.

On paper, it’s another celebrity collaboration. In reality, Method Man’s relationship with cannabis runs much deeper than most.

TICAL Was a Cannabis Brand Before Cannabis Brands Existed

When Tical arrived in 1994, Method Man wasn’t laying the groundwork for a future licensing company. He was creating one of the defining albums of New York hip-hop’s golden era.

The album also introduced “tical” to millions of listeners as part of Method Man’s unmistakable vocabulary and cannabis-heavy world. It became a nickname, a cultural reference and eventually the foundation for something much bigger.

Today, TICAL stands for “Taking Into Consideration All Lives.” The name has evolved into a platform spanning cannabis, apparel, accessories and partnerships, but it has never lost its connection to the culture that created it.

That history matters.

The legal cannabis market has no shortage of celebrity names. Some collaborations feel natural. Others feel like a famous face was added to the packaging after the product was already finished. Consumers can usually tell the difference.

Method Man doesn’t need to manufacture a relationship with cannabis. The connection has been there throughout his career, from his early Wu-Tang verses and solo albums to his current role as an entrepreneur, actor and co-founder of TICAL Official.

As Cannabis Now previously reported, TICAL was built by a tight-knit team of Method Man’s longtime friends, including Nathaniel “Nutta” Vereen, Joshua “Raz” Rassin and Bryan “Z” Zabinski. The team initially self-funded the company, selected operating partners carefully and prioritized independent and Black-owned retailers during its early rollout.

That personal foundation has helped TICAL avoid feeling like another celebrity licensing exercise. Method Man may be the name recognized around the world, but the brand has always presented itself as a larger movement built around friendship, culture, quality and inclusion.

The Weedgets collaboration is the latest extension of that idea.
