Avgvst and Crosby Studios: Transforming Everyday Objects into Wearable Art
Berlin-based jewelry brand Avgvst has teamed up with Crosby Studios to create a new interchangeable jewelry collection that blurs the line between everyday objects and wearable art. The collection, launching on November 6, embodies Harry Nuriev’s concept of Transformism, transforming 24 ordinary objects into polished sterling silver “trinkets” that can be worn as necklaces or earrings.
A Collaboration of Creativity
Avgvst, an independent jewelry brand founded in 2019 by Natalia Bryantseva, has joined forces with Crosby Studios, a Paris and New York-based creative firm founded by Harry Nuriev. Known for their innovative design projects in architecture, interiors, and branding, Crosby Studios has previously collaborated with big names such as Nike, Valentino, and Dover Street Market.
Transforming the Ordinary
Together, Avgvst and Crosby Studios have created a collection that reimagines everyday objects into wearable works of art. Nuriev’s concept of Transformism, which he coined to describe his practice of transformation and creation of transformative experiences, is at the heart of the collection’s creative direction. Drawing inspiration from ordinary objects and moments, Nuriev elevates them into extraordinary, artful statements.
A Collection of Miniature Sculptures
The collection features 24 everyday objects, including a comb, sunglasses, and a flip phone, all transformed into miniature wearable sculptures. In addition, there is a special themed drop called Rock’N’Droll, which includes four music-inspired “trinkets”: a microphone, a CD, headphones, and a cassette. Each piece is meticulously crafted in polished sterling silver, showcasing Avgvst’s expertise in jewelry-making.
Wearable Manifestos
Each trinket can be worn individually or combined with others, either on a silver chain or a pair of silver hoop earrings.
