Tremaine Emory and Tyshawn Jones Team Up for a Bold and Graphic Capsule Collection

Get ready for a weekend release like no other as Tremaine Emory’s Denim Tears and Tyshawn Jones’ Hardies NYC have joined forces for a 15-piece capsule collection. This collaboration merges the identities of both brands, bringing together Hardies’ skate-rooted aesthetic and Denim Tears’ focus on African American history and motifs.

The collection features a range of items including graphic tees, tank tops, hats, durags, and decks, all boldly reinterpreting each brand’s iconic symbols. Denim Tears’ floral graphics and cotton laurels are prominently featured, while Hardies’ bulldog insignia and fist-shaped screw icon are intertwined and layered with Emory’s signature motifs.

The standout graphic of the collection is the “Buff Black Jesus,” printed on a tee and skateboard. This graphic showcases Jesus wearing a cotton wreath crown and holding a screw-shaped barbell, paying homage to Hardies. Another core symbol of the collection is the hybrid “Fist Wreath” graphic, seen on hoodies and open-hem sweatpants.

What makes this collaboration truly special is how it captures both Emory and Jones’ personal experiences and roots them in their work. By situating skate culture within the context of Black style and cultural history, this collection is a celebration of both brands’ identities.

The full Denim Tears x Hardies collection will be available online at DENIMTEARS.COM and in-store at Africa Diaspora Goods in New York City on October 17. Don’t miss out on this bold and graphic collaboration that brings together two unique and influential brands.
