Why would I bring the candy here to sell? It was for personal use.” And he had a point. Why would he risk his freedom and reputation to sell a few measly gummies?
But alas, the authorities were not convinced. To them, Shaw was just another drug smuggler, trying to sneak his illegal goods into their country. And so, the battle between Shaw and the Indonesian authorities raged on, all because of a bag of innocent-looking gummies.
In the end, Shaw was able to prove his innocence and was released from custody. But the incident left a bitter taste in his mouth, and he vowed to never bring his beloved gummies on his travels again. Lesson learned, Shaw. Lesson learned.
