40th Anniversary Celebrations: Air Jordan 11 and 1 Take Center Stage in 2025
With 40 entries in the iconic Air Jordan series, it’s no surprise that every year is marked by special anniversaries. But for 2025, things are getting extra exciting with the 40th anniversary of the Air Jordan 1 leading the way and a slew of highly anticipated releases. And to top it all off, the year will end with a bang as the Air Jordan 11 celebrates its 30th anniversary.
But that’s not all, folks. The Jordan Brand team has just given us a sneak peek at nine upcoming pairs that are sure to make sneakerheads go wild.
Air Jordan 11 “Rare Air” (October 1)
First up, we have the highly anticipated Air Jordan 11 “Rare Air.” After months of rumors, we finally got an exclusive first look at this sneaker earlier this year when the “Rare Air” collection was previewed. And now, it’s officially confirmed to be dropping this week.
The design features a striking blue patent leather mudguard, red Jumpman branding at the collar, and bold black “JORDAN” lettering on the white leather upper. The semi-translucent outsole adds a touch of flair with its off-white, red, black, and blue detailing.
Kids’ Air Jordan 11 “Inner Beast” (October 4)
But wait, there’s more! Kids are also getting in on the action with the Air Jordan 11’s first standalone kids’ release: the “Inner Beast.” This sleek pair pays homage to Michael Jordan’s “Black Cat” persona with a mixed material upper featuring camouflaged velvet at the mudguard and a fierce claw graphic underneath the green Jumpman logo. And for an extra cool touch, the outsole glows in the dark.
Women’s Air Jordan 11 “Pearl” (November 11)
Ladies, get ready to shine with the exclusive “Pearl” colorway of the Air Jordan 11. Previously teased as the “Grand Finale” colorway, this version features a pearly keychain that adds a touch of elegance to the crisp white design. The pearlescent detailing and wide ribbon laces give this sneaker a unique and stylish look, while the “Sail” accents add a soft touch to the overall palette.
Air Jordan 11 “H-Town” (November 22)
But the celebrations don’t stop there. Region-specific releases are scattered throughout the preview, with Houston being one of three North American cities to have its own special pair. The “H-Town” colorway pays tribute to the city’s hustle culture with a brown, white, and blue design inspired by the trunk of a car. The upper features luxurious silk suede, while a chrome Jumpman logo on the collar adds a touch of shine.
Air Jordan 11 “Mojave” (November 22)
Last but certainly not least, we have the “Mojave” iteration, representing Las Vegas and its stunning red rock sunsets. The upper features an aged nubuck material, with reflective detailing that nods to the city’s bright lights. And for a subtle nod to the city’s famous casinos, the outsole plate is made of gold carbon fiber.
