Ahluwalia Returns to London Fashion Week with Affinity Collection

After a brief hiatus, Ahluwalia made a triumphant return to the London Fashion Week schedule with its highly anticipated Spring/Summer 2026 collection, Affinity. The collection, which was showcased in the stunning atrium of London’s NoMad Hotel, explores the complex and multifaceted nature of love.

Shedding the Old, Embracing the New

According to Creative Director Priya Ahluwalia, the collection marks a moment of shedding the old and starting something new and fresh for the brand. This sentiment was reflected in the bold and dynamic pieces that graced the runway.

Tension and Release

The show opened with a striking grey suit adorned with long ruby-red fringe, setting the tone for the collection’s central theme of tension and release. This theme was further emphasized through intentional twists and knots in gowns and tops, as well as accessories made entirely of fringe.

Fluid Sensuality and Grounded Tailoring

The collection featured a mix of fluid satin dresses and structured denim sets, providing a balance between sensuality and structure. Precise tailoring added a touch of sophistication to the bold and playful designs.

A Vibrant Colour Palette

One of the standout elements of the collection was its vibrant colour palette. Jewel tones like scarlet, ruby, and sapphire were paired with soft pinks, baby blues, and earthy browns, creating a radiant mix of energy and emotion.

Inspired by Love in Film and Music

Ahluwalia drew inspiration from cinematic portrayals of love, including the opulence of Bollywood films, the timeless drama of Shakespearean tales, and the emotional resonance of Motown and R&B ballads. These influences were further enriched by references to Indian miniature paintings and Nigerian deities, such as Oshun – the goddess of love and fertility.
