Fashion East: The Non-Profit Incubator That Continues to Launch Fresh Underground Talent
London Fashion Week wouldn’t be complete without Fashion East, and their Spring/Summer 2026 show at the Institute of Contemporary Art proved why the UK capital is a hub for emerging talent. Led by founder Lulu Kennedy, Fashion East has been instrumental in launching the careers of influential designers like Kim Jones, Craig Green, Simone Rocha, and more. This season, they celebrated their legacy with a retrospective exhibit, Us Lot: 25 Years of Fashion East, powered by Nike.
But Fashion East isn’t just looking back, they’re also looking forward. Their SS26 showcase introduced a new trio of emerging talent, featuring two exciting debuts and one returning favorite. First up was Jacek Gleba, a Barcelona-born designer whose collection was a masterclass in deconstruction. Mayhew, the eponymous label by UK designer Louis Mayhew, showcased a signature layered style with added depth through different textiles and striking accessories. Nuba by Cameron Williams returned for a third season, presenting a controlled and effortless collection with a fusion of African and British influences.
Mayhew’s collection featured a monochrome palette with subtle paint splashes and standout accessories, while Nuba closed the show with a showstopping look featuring an oversized feather-like jacket and intricately woven shoes. Jacek Gleba’s dance-inspired collection featured soft, flowing fabrics and strategic cutouts for increased movement and modernity. Ballet flats and flip-flops grounded the looks, making the collection both fresh and wearable. Check out the gallery above for a closer look at Fashion East SS26.
