A Year Later: Baracuta and Barbour Team Up Again for Fall/Winter Collection

It’s been a year since Baracuta and Barbour first joined forces for a collaboration, and now they’re back with their second Fall/Winter collection. This time, the iconic British labels are celebrating Barbour’s 100th anniversary with a collection that pays tribute to their shared Northern English heritage. The result is a fusion of two archival outerwear classics: Baracuta’s G9 Harrington and Barbour’s Bedale jacket.

The spokesperson for Baracuta explains, “Carefully melding together the DNA of both brands was key to this collaboration. We wanted to honor the Northern roots of Barbour and Baracuta, and the people who have worn our jackets over the years.” The G9 Harrington jacket, famously adopted by subcultures since the ’60s, now features Barbour’s classic waxed material on the outer shell. The Bedale jacket, a favorite among riders, takes on Baracuta’s famous dog-ear collar in an oversized silhouette.

The collection also includes a long-line Parka with a toggle waist and large hood, reminiscent of the styles worn by mods and Brit-pop artists. Cable knits and shirts, featuring a mash-up of the labels’ signature tartan prints, add to the British style history. And to top it off, trapper and bucket hats provide extra protection against the unpredictable British weather.

Reflecting on the collection, a spokesperson from Baracuta shares, “Manchester and South Shields, the iconic homes of both Baracuta and Barbour, flow through our veins and into our pieces. When you wear a Baracuta x Barbour garment, you’re not just wearing clothes; you’re carrying the message of pure unparalleled Britishness.”

To showcase this “unparalleled Britishness,” the labels have teamed up with menswear tastemaker Danny Lomas for the campaign. Lomas is seen wearing the pieces against the red brick backdrop of Manchester’s Ancoats neighborhood, while providing a commentary-style narration in the accompanying video.

The Baracuta x Barbour Fall/Winter 2024 collection is now available online. Don’t miss your chance to carry the message of pure Britishness with these hardwearing pieces.
