Only NY Celebrates 100 Years of WNYC with Commemorative Capsule Collection
New York City’s own Only NY is no stranger to paying homage to its hometown, and their latest release is no exception. The brand has teamed up with WNYC, the city’s public radio station, to create a commemorative capsule collection in honor of WNYC’s Centennial anniversary.
Collaborating with Cultural Institutions
Only NY founders Micah Belamarich and Julian Goldstein expressed their excitement about working with WNYC, an organization they grew up listening to as lifelong New Yorkers. They see this collaboration as a way to further tell the stories of culturally rich institutions in their city.
A Nod to WNYC’s History
The capsule collection features a selection of co-branded graphics on t-shirts, hoodies, and a canvas tote bag. These designs draw inspiration from WNYC’s archive of vintage logos and poster designs from its 100 years on the air. Mantras like “Listen and tell your friends to listen” and “The voice of the city” are stamped on each garment, along with imagery from WNYC’s time as a TV broadcaster and their Independence Campaign in 1995.
