Rachel Scott Takes the Reins as Creative Director of Proenza Schouler
Jamaican-American Designer to Lead American Luxury Label into Next Era
After months of speculation, it has been officially announced that Rachel Scott will be taking over as the new creative director of Proenza Schouler. The Jamaican-American designer, known for her work with Diotima, will make her debut in February 2026.
Scott’s appointment comes after the departure of Proenza Schouler’s founders, Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, who moved on to Loewe in March. However, Scott has already been working closely with the brand as a consultant in their design studio for the past few months, and her influence can be seen in the upcoming Spring 2026 collection.
In a statement, Scott expressed her excitement about joining Proenza Schouler, a brand she has long admired. She also acknowledged the legacy of McCollough and Hernandez and looks forward to bringing her own perspective to the brand.
Shira Suveyke Snyder, Proenza Schouler’s chief executive officer, also shared her enthusiasm for Scott’s appointment, stating that her talent and understanding of the brand’s codes make her the perfect fit to lead the house into the future.
With Scott at the helm, we can expect to see a fresh and female perspective on the modern American woman, as she combines traditional craftsmanship with innovative design. Stay tuned for her first presentation in February 2026.
