Pirelli Unveils Refresh and Reveal 2025 Calendar at London’s Natural History Museum
On Tuesday, the highly anticipated 2025 edition of Pirelli’s iconic calendar was revealed at the Natural History Museum in London. Titled “Refresh and Reveal,” the 51st edition was lensed by photographer Ethan James Green and features a diverse cast of actors, artists, singers, and models.
Shot on Location in Miami with a Star-Studded Cast
The calendar’s 24 photos were captured on Miami’s Virginia Key Beach Park and in an on-site studio between May and June of this year. The cast includes notable names such as American actress Hunter Schafer, Indian-American TV presenter Padma Lakshmi, French actor Vincent Cassel, and Italian artist Elodie.
A Celebration of Beauty in All Forms
Each of the 12 subjects is featured in one black-and-white shot and one color image, showcasing a range of beauty and diversity. South Korean actress Hoyeon, American artist Martine Gutierrez, and British actresses Simone Ashley and Jodie Turner-Smith are also among the stars of the calendar.
Photographer Ethan James Green Makes a Cameo Appearance
In a unique twist, Green himself appears in the calendar, making him the third photographer to also star in the final product. Previous photographers who have done the same include Prince Gyasi in 2024 and Bryan Adams in 2022.
“Refresh and Reveal” – A Return to the Calendar’s Roots
In a statement, Green explained the concept behind the calendar, saying, “Our general idea of beauty has expanded so much from what it used to be. I was excited to explore beauty today and to be able to present it in a context like the Pirelli Calendar, which has always celebrated it.” He added that the title “Refresh and Reveal” reflects a return to the calendar’s origins and a celebration of the body in new ways that reflect the current moment.
Fashion Director Tonne Goodman Praises Green’s Work
Former Vogue fashion editor Tonne Goodman, who served as the fashion director and creative consultant for the 2025 Pirelli Calendar, described the shoot as “absolutely fabulous.” She praised Green’s ability to capture elegance and the queer world, stating, “The breadth of his experience as a photographer and his personality are truly reflected in the imagery he makes because he’s very sensitive, very bold, and very unapologetic.” Goodman also noted Green’s mastery of light and direction in the studio, calling it “remarkable.”
