In Celebration of the Jordan Brand’s New Fall/Winter 2025 Collection: Coldest in The Game
The Jordan Brand has once again proven their dominance in the fashion world with their latest collection, Coldest in The Game. To celebrate this momentous occasion, the brand has teamed up with creative curator Youssouf Fofana for a project like no other – The Scout’s Trip.
The Scout’s Trip was a one-of-a-kind expedition to Kenya, bringing together creative talents from all over the world. From Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, North America, and Kenya, these individuals came together to share experiences, conversations, creativity, and sport.
Among the curated collective were some notable names, including Kenya-based skate group Girl Skate Nairobi, who use skateboarding to challenge gender norms and build community within Kenya’s urban culture. Also joining the trip was Nairobi streetwear collective Studio18, adding their unique style to the mix.
From France, creative chef Zoumana Meite and fashion designer Maï Jarach were part of Youssouf Fofana’s Union de la Jeunesse Internationale sponsorship program. And from the UK, writer and journalist Dalia Al-Duajaili and artist Miriam Fahim from Italy were also part of the group, along with several other emerging creatives.
The Scout’s Trip was all about storytelling, something that the Jordan Brand excels at. The trip was an opportunity to explore new stories and perspectives that emerge when experiencing Jordan through shared experiences and collaborative creativity.
The group embarked on a journey through Kenya’s unique landscapes, from the cultural hubs of Nairobi to the majestic Mount Kenya. These new environments provided fresh contexts for connection and inspired the creative process. Along the way, they encountered communities and organic stories that added to the experience.
The trip was centered around following the natural flow of creation, allowing group connections and the environment to guide the process. And the end result? The Coldest in The Game collection, featuring two new apparel packs and a new AJ1 footwear design.
The Collections
The first collection, Mountainside, is all about functionality and style. It includes a high-visibility hoodie and technical cargo pants for warmth, as well as a standout Mountainside Jacket featuring GORE-TEX technology and water-resistant finishes. The jacket’s print is inspired by the crowd from the infamous 1985 dunk contest, rendered in a pixelated pattern.
The RealTree Collection taps into the popular camo trend, offering streetwear-meets-outerwear pieces like a down-filled parka, cropped hoodie, and a reimagined Chicago jacket.
And of course, no Jordan collection would be complete without a new AJ1 design. The AJ1 Element Low is a unique blend of outdoor function and basketball style, featuring an All Conditions A/T “Off Road” cup sole, sculpted foam, a heel Air Bag, TPU heel counter, and GORE-TEX waterproofing.
Together, the Mountainside range adds an extra level of energy to everyday street style while also providing practical utility for the colder months.
Speaking about both the collection and the experience, Youssouf Fofana says, “I think we started with product, but we always knew that wasn’t the end goal of the project we were building. What we really wanted was to create something bigger – to build a community, to bring people together. To gather young people from different backgrounds and cultures and see what happens when they come together and share their stories.”
