Who Decides War: “Read the Room” for Spring/Summer 2026 Collection
As the world continues to grapple with the aftermath of a tumultuous year, Who Decides War is reminding us of an important lesson with their latest collection: “Read the Room.” Designers Téla D’amore and Ev Bravado drew inspiration from the decay and destruction that surrounds us, creating a gothic dreamscape of a presentation that reflects the transition from collapse to renewal.
The collection, showcased at New York Fashion Week, features masterfully tailored pieces that embody the brand’s signature aesthetic. Live music from Leon Thomas added to the atmosphere, as he performed a compilation of hits and new tracks, including “MUTT” for the final carousel.
“It was really about reflecting on the state of the world right now without being too literal,” D’amore shared before the show. “There’s a lot of context here. It’s not necessarily a ‘read between the lines’ type of thing, but it’s about what you take from it.” The collection serves as a reflection on what remains after the dust settles, with a focus on the brand’s most striking tailoring yet.
Bravado also noted that this collection is the most true-to-self for the brand, stating, “In past collections, I felt like I wasn’t really creating for myself, but this season is how I want to dress. There’s a lot of new tailoring and slimmer silhouettes than we’re known for. It’s the most intentional we’ve been with fabrication.”
When asked about her favorite pieces, D’amore pointed to the womenswear, stating that this season, the focus was “nonnegotiable.” She explained, “We’ve always been deeply inspired by womenswear and women in general, and this was a time when it was nonnegotiable that we had to have a conversation that was really deep about women and womenswear. Finally. We’ve always given a lot of energy towards the materialization of the mens’s side, so this season it was really about making sure the womenswear was up to par if not better.”
